Henry Mangum, son of Archibald Jefferson Mangum, took his mother's maiden name "Parham" when he came to Faulkner County, Arkansas about 1881. The name change was a result of an incident in North Carolina. This tin type photo was made about 1890 and shows Henry, his wife Sarah Jane (Lavender), Martha Pearl Parham, James Archibald (Arch)Parham, John Parham and Maggie Parham. John was this writer's grandfather.
